Very solid, but that doesn't mean it's great.
Well, this game was well thought out, and it's very apparent that alot of time went into this game. It's a great pico day submission, but I think that's the only title it can get. The lack of any real progression in this game makes it seem kinda pointless to play, minus being able to see who's launching this attack of evil flashes, and searching for the easter eggs. If there was more of a point to killing the waves upon waves of bad flashes, like a simple experience system, it'd probably be more rewarding, and worthwhile to play. Now, don't get me wrong, I can only code things as simple as pong games, but I'm thinking adding experience, and some simple damage/defence modifiers in the form of level up points would be a great step in an RPG. Maybe for your next project, you could even experiment with money, different looks for your character, possibly armor, ranged attacks, etc.
That aside, the combat in this game, unfortunately enough, was just too simple. Boss fights were annoying, fighting bad .swf's over and over was less than entertaining too. I don't really have any suggestions as to how to improve it, for part of the beauty of this game is it's simplicity, but it's not a simplicity that I want to spend 40 minutes playing, without any really worthwhile progression. Yeah, there's NG user ranks, but I think it'd be more rewarding if this was attained through experience, or something along those lines.
I dunno, those are just my two cents. I gave it a 4/5, 7/10. The game was well made, just alot missing. Just trying to suggest things to make it more appealing =).
